Rice Husk to Power – SUPCON to Supply Biomass Power Generation Project in Malaysia
Recently, SUPCON successfully been awarded the DCS project for the FIRST Malaysia 9.95MW Rice Husk Fired Power Plant from MAJUNAKA ECO ENERGY SDN BHD scheduled to be completed by year 2020. Due to the challenges from the nature of rice husk high humidity for combustion to generate power, SUPCON InPlant® solution will be implemented to achieve total plant automation through our Webfield ECS-700 Distributed Control System.
The project also involved the first collaboration with Japanese boiler, Yoshimine. Upon completion, it will improve the power supply situation in Naka and Kedah significantly. The technology solution does not only provide electricity but it also serves as an alternative for agricultural waste disposal. In addition, the byproduct, steam, can be used for paddy drying applications, thereby increasing local incomes, meanwhile reducing waste volume and consumption of fossil fuels.
